Meet Autumn
Every upholstery job begins with tearing it down to the bones (frame). This chair is an Ethan Allen wing chair originally built about 20 years ago. It has a terrific, rock hard frame. I’m so glad the owner decided to reupholster this chair rather than send it to the landfill! The fabric had worn through, and the foam inside was badly compressed. Autumn was named for her owner’s fabric choice: 𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐞 𝐅𝐚𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐜𝐬 𝐃𝟑𝟑𝟏𝟖 𝐢𝐧 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐧. It’s so great to see warmer colors coming back into furnishings! Everything we love about autumn is represented in this fabric choice! The fabric is a heavy duty poly-linen blend with a Lifeguard finish engineered to permanently repel liquids, stains, soils, and odors. It’s durable!
The original foam on the chair was so compressed and shapeless that it was hard to tell just how thick the foam had been originally. I do my best to help a piece “feel” or sit the way it did originally, but you can expect to feel some difference after new foam and fillings have been installed. What I care about most is whether it feels good and looks good. 𝐀𝐜𝐜𝐨𝐫𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐨 𝐀𝐮𝐭𝐮𝐦𝐧’𝐬 𝐨𝐰𝐧𝐞𝐫, 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐟𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐬 𝐠𝐨𝐨𝐝, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤𝐬 𝐠𝐫𝐞𝐚𝐭!
